I wanted to relate what was the life of the girls in those houses, some glorify for no good reasons. And especially if you were racially incorrect. A moment in time to clear from pseudo fame and glory. This was hard for women, more than violent and degrading hygiene was the routine...

Lulu WHITE

Lulu White was the most notorious madam in Storyville. She earned fame and fortune as the “handsomest octoroon” in the South, and her bordello, Mahogany Hall, featured “octoroon” prostitutes for the pleasure of wealthy white men during one of America’s most virulently—and violently—racist periods. It was also the dawn of consumer culture and the beginning of modern advertising. Thus, Lulu White crafted a persona for herself through stories that had long circulated in New Orleans.

Not one with real blood in his veins? She has been in the principal cities of Europa and the Continent, and can certainly interest you as she has a host of others. When we add that the famous octoroon was born near Baton Rouge we trust you will call on her.

Now a member of high standing in Miss White’s famous Octoroon Club a few years ago one of the leading stars in Sam T. Jack’s Créole Show, which assertion alone should test the capacity of Miss LULU’s commodious quarters every night.

Such is the soubriquet Miss Sadie has gained and property-as pretty a form and accomplished as could asked for. We cannot possibly do the lady justice by the writing of her accomplishments, so gently request you to personally attend to her by a call at the famous Octoroon Club, presided over by Miss LULU WHITE.

VICTORIA HALL

A mener of Miss WHITE’s Club, as accomplished as she is beautiful, a form of equal to VENUS, a voice not unlike PATTI. How could a more accurate description be printed, and what more could be said.
